My (short) Story...
Hello! My name is Jennifer Emily Towers (J.E.T) - known as Jen to most people I know.
I'm 28 from the Wirral, UK and have been an ACE certified level 3 Personal trainer since February 2015, working with my husband for our freelance personal training company 'The Foundation Personal Training'.
I started working out at the age of around 18 when I'd just broken up with an ex boyfriend and felt like I needed something to focus on. I'd never been so heartbroken and I felt like my world was over - I'm sure some of you can relate? Anyway; I'd always been conscious about my figure and even though I wasn't hugely overweight, I felt like I could lose a few pounds to help with my confidence. As most gym newbies do, I stuck to the treadmill and bike and thought that this would get me looking like a victorias' secret model -how wrong was I!
It was a couple of months after being at the gym that my now husband introduced me to weight training. I told him I didn't want to get big and bulky (like many of my female clients now tell me) but he explained how the female body adapts to resistance training so I gave it a try and never looked back. After a few months of training with Matt, I felt stronger, had lost a few pounds and was starting to tone up - plus I had gained a new boyfriend which was an extra bonus. My goal also changes from wanting to look like a VS model to being strong and build some lean muscle.
After only being together for a short time, we moved over to Dubai around 5 years ago (wow where has the time gone!?) and it wasn't until around 2 years later that I realised my true passion for health and fitness and wanted to help others achieve their goals. I want everyone to be the best version of themselves and live strong, confident, healthy lives for many years to come. As they say - age is just a number! With this goal in mind, I decided to set up this website for my followers to provide you with the knowledge and tools you need to become the best version of you and make fitness accessible to all levels of strength and fitness.
No matter how young or old you are, it's never too late to start living a healthy lifestyle and I'm here to let you into a secret - a healthy lifestyle doesn't mean eating bowls of kale and spinach everyday and blasting yourself on the treadmill 'till your blue in the face; it means eating a well balanced diet full of nutritious foods (and the occasional naughty treat) that will fuel your body, enabling it to work at it's optimum level and training in a functional and efficient way to ensure you build and retain muscle mass safely and effectively while preventing potential diseases and reaching your overall goal.
My goal for the website over the next few months is to add lots of interesting, usable content for you including videos, workouts, nutrition info, recipes and lots more to make your life a fitter and healthier one so stay tuned for more and don't forget to follow me on instagram @jen_dubai_pt and @thefoundation.pts!
