Week 6 - Half Way Point!
Wahooo the half way point is here! It feels like I've reached the first checkpoint and I'm pretty happy with the progress so far even though, like in my previous posts, I mentioned about messing up the initial numbers when it came to the calorie deficit so I'm about 2-3 weeks behind where I should be but hey, lesson learnt.
Anywhoo, I'v been on the right track with my calories for a few weeks now and this week in particular, I can see some good results from week 1 when I started in the first week of September.
I'm currently 55.4kg down from 57.3 in my first week so a total of just under 2kg loss in total.
I had a few days of feeling pretty unmotivated this week but I got myself to the gym and completed every workout with extra days of cardio in the AM. Its weird how some days you can feel super positive and motivated and then the next day you feel 'Blahhh' and have no motivation. I think the main thing to do when you feel like this is not to think about it too much and just get your workout clothes on and go to the gym as every workout is a step closer to your goal. I usually find that once I'm in the gym and have done the first couple of sets, I feel much better and get back into the 'zone'.
I had a temptation this week in which my will power was truly tested as we gave a talk at our local rotary club about health and fitness and they laid on a beautiful 3 course dinner. Thankfully, the overall dinner was fairly calorie friendly. The starter was a salad with a light dressing and the main course was a lamb loin which was ahhhmazing!
The temptation came when the desert came. For those of you who know me, chocolate is my weakness and as the desert was a chocolate berry cake, I had to stay super focused and not give into temptation. I sat there looking at it and thinking 'maybe just one spoonful' but I knew if I had one bite then it clearly wouldn't have stopped at that. Even the guy next to me was saying go on just have one taste haha. Annoyingly, I put the scrummy desert photo on my instagram stories but forgot to save it! Booo!
There wont be any changes with nutrition or workouts this week as I'm still losing weight on 1500 calories a day so here's to the week ahead and the next kgs to be lost.
Until next week...
